Released in 2017, Suffocation's ...Of the Dark Light marked the final studio album with Frank Mullen on vocals, who fronted the New York death metal veterans renowned for defining the brutal, slamming and technical styles of the genre unlike any other since 1989. He passed the torch to Ricky Myers, who celebrated his debut on Hymns from the Apocrypha in 2023, but delivered a prime performance on his swansong.
