The Beastie's sixth album proper is, in turns, a tribute to their beloved hometown, a stand against the US administration, and an entertaining window into MCA, Mike D and Ad Rock's goofy world. It's the most straight up hip hop album since 1989's 'Paul's Boutique' with the old skool 'Ch-Check it Out' and the 'Rapper's Delight'-sampling 'Triple Trouble'.

The trio's response is TO THE 5 BOROUGHS, an album that prominently features the WTC on its cover illustration of the Manhattan skyline (circa 2000), and lovingly looks at the past, present, and future of both NYC and the Beastie Boys themselves.
