Gojira have been hailed as the French Mastodon and will play a huge part in the next evolutionary step for heavy music. Musically, the band mixes several different genres including death metal, thrash metal and progressive metal, but there are also more atmospheric sections to many songs in a similar style to that of Poison the Well, Textures and Neurosis.
