Prize Grab Terms & Conditions
1. Entry into any part of the JB Prize Grab promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Headings in these Terms and Conditions are included for ease of reference, and do not affect interpretation in any way.
2. The promoter is JB Hi-Fi Group (NZ) Ltd, 7 Link Drive, Wairau Park, Auckland 0627, New Zealand. (Promoter).
3. The JB Prize Grab promotion is made up of 4 sub-promotions, being:• a Grand Prize Draw• an Online Goodies Prize Draw• a Free Online Gift Card Prize Draw• In-Store Claw Games
4. Entry requirements, methods of determining winners and available prizes for each of these sub-promotions (each a Sub-Promotion) are described below.Duration
5. Entries into the Grand Prize Draw, Online Goodies Prize Draw and Free Online Gift Card Prize Draw must be submitted from 12:01am on 12 May 2025 until 11:59pm on 17 June 2025 (Promotion Period).
6. The In-Store Claw Games can only be played during each participating store’s opening hours in the Promotion Period or until all prizes allocated to a participating store’s In-Store Claw Game have been won, if sooner.Eligibility to enter
7. Entry is open only to New Zealand residents who are not directors or employees of the Promoter and its related bodies corporate (or their immediate family members) (Eligible Entrants).
8. If an Eligible Entrant is under the age of 18, they must obtain consent from their parent or legal guardian before entering the promotion.Entry into the promotion
9. The additional entry criteria for each Sub-Promotion are set out in the table below.

Online GoodiesPrize Draw | Purchase any product online at https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/ or direct.jbhifi.co.nz during the Promotion Period and play the online claw game at www.jbhifi.co.nz/pages/jb-prize-grab during the Promotion Period to enter the draw. To play you will need to use ‘tokens’ that you will receive at or after the time of purchase. For online purchases you will receive those tokens within 24 hours of your purchase – you are encouraged to buy well in advance of the end of the Promotion Period to ensure you have a chance to play! The Promoter reserves the right to accept entries into the Online Goodies Prize Draw up to 24 hours after the Promotion Period. When you play this online claw game you will receive a number of ‘points’ which will represent the number of entries you have into the Online Goodies Prize Draw. |
Free Online GiftCard PrizeDraw | Enter by completing and submitting the form available via www.jbhifi.co.nz/pages/jb-prize-grab during the Promotion Period and playing the free online claw game. No purchase is required to enter. Each entrant can play the free online claw game up to 3 times per day. By playing the free online claw game you will receive a number of ‘points’ which will represent the number of entries you have for the Free Online Gift Card Prize Draw. |
In-Store ClawGames | Purchase any product from one of JB Hi-Fi NZ’s participating physical stores in normal trading hours during the Promotion Period and you will have the chance to play an in-store claw game (either physical or electronic versions, depending on the store) to have the chance to win an instant prize. 10. Our airport stores are not participating in this promotion. Purchases in our airport stores do not qualify you to enter.
11. Entrants can only enter this promotion using one email address and must enter in their own name. The Promoter is not responsible for (and is under no obligation to accept) any lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries. Each participant may play In-Store Claw Games (across all participating stores) a maximum of three times during each day of the Promotion Period.
12. The time of entry will be deemed to be the time the entry is received by the Promoter.
13. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries (including an entrant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who is not an Eligible Entrant, has not complied with these Terms and Conditions, tampers with the entry process or otherwise gains an unfair advantage (as determined by the Promoter). Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
The prizes
14. The prizes for each Sub-Promotion are as set out in the table below. The total prize pool for all Sub-Promotions together is at least $110,000.

In-Store ClawGames | See Table 2 in Schedule 1 to these T&Cs. The prizes listed in that table are allocated randomly across all participating stores. |
15. Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, there are some warranties and guarantees that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified or can only be excluded, restricted or modified to a limited extent. The Promoter excludes all warranties and guarantees in relation to the prizes, to the extent allowable under New Zealand law. Except as otherwise required under New Zealand law, the Promoter accepts no liability or responsibility for any defect with the prizes.
16. Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
17. All Gift Cards received as prizes are subject to the Gift Cards T&Cs available at www.jbhifi.co.nz/giftcardterms
18. If a prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to select an alternative prize of similar value which will be awarded to the relevant Winner, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
19. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the promotion or the prizes. Independent financial advice should be sought.
Determination of winners
20. Winners of each Sub-Promotion will be determined as set out in the table below.

Notification of the Winner
21. Winners of the In-Store Claw Games will be informed of their prize as described above.
22. The Promoter will attempt to notify winners of the other Sub-Promotions within two business days of completion of the draw. Contact will be made by phone call using the phone number provided when entering.
23. If the Promoter is unable to contact a winner after having made 3 attempts to do so, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify the entry, in which case clause 25 will apply.
24. The name of each winner may be published at www.jbhifi.co.nz/blogs/competitions and/or on JB Hi-Fi NZ’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/jbhifi.nz/)
Right of the Promoter to redraw
25. The Promoter reserves the right to re-select a winner in the event of a winner not being an Eligible Entrant, not having complied with these Terms and Conditions or not being able to be contacted by the Promoter as contemplated in clause 22. If a re-selection is necessary, it will be conducted by the Promoter in the same manner as the original selection. This process will be repeated until all prizes have been allocated. However, if the Promoter is unable to allocate a prize within one month of the first selection the Promoter may instead elect to forfeit that prize.
Limitation of liability and variation of promotion
26. Nothing contained in these Terms and Conditions shall be read or applied so as to exclude, restrict , modify or have the effect of excluding, restricting or modifying any condition,warranty, guarantee, right or remedy or other obligation implied by any law (including, without limitation, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993) which cannot by law be excluded, restricted or modified
27. The Promoter reserves the right to amend, cancel or suspend this Promotion if an event beyond the control of the Promoter corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition or if such amendment, cancellation or suspension is required to ensure the safety of the Promoter, its representatives and of entrants. Such changes may include the timing of the judging, and the timing of any Prize fulfilment. The Promoter will act reasonably and in good faith in making any such decision. Except to the extent caused by the Promoter’s negligence, or the Promoter’s breach of these Terms and Conditions, or as otherwise required by law, the Promoter will not be liable to any entrant for loss resulting from such action.
28. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Competition. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation are reserved and any winner found to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions or having engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Competition may be required to return any Prize received
29. Except to the extent caused by the Promoter’s negligence, or the Promoter’s breach of these Terms and Conditions, or as otherwise required by law, the Promoter will not be liable for any loss suffered by an entrant or potential entrant to the extent:· resulting from or connected with any inability of a person to submit an entry (on time or at all), or failure of the Promoter to provide an opportunity to enter or to receive an entry (on time or at all), or failure of a winner to receive a Prize, due to events outside of the reasonable control of the Promoter including, without limitation, as a result of problems with, or technical malfunction of, any software, telephone or computer network, equipment or systems or mail or courier service;· that arises from events outside of the reasonable control of the Promoter but within the reasonable control of the entrant or potential entrant, including the Promoter’s inability to contact a winner using reasonable efforts for the purpose of Prize fulfilment; or· that arises as a result of any breach of these Terms and Conditions by an entrant or potential entrant
Entry details and privacy
30. Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. The name of any winner may be used for promotional purposes by the Promoter, unless a winner otherwise notifies the Promoter at the time of accepting their prize. Entrants consent to the Promoter using their personal information provided in connection with this promotion for the purposes of facilitating the conduct of the promotion and awarding any prizes and for the purpose of future marketing. Without limiting the foregoing, entrants’ personal information provided in connection with this promotion will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, a copy of which is available on JB Hi-Fi’s website at: https://support.jbhifi.co.nz/hc/en-nz/articles/15303262470553-Privacy-Policy and contains information about how the Promotor will handle your personal information, and other information required to be disclosed to you under the Privacy Act. You should read this policy before providing any personal information to the Promoter.
Other
31. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspect of the promotion is final and binding on every entrant, and no correspondence will be entered into.
32. Entrants may not assign or otherwise transfer any rights in connection with the promotion or under these Terms and Conditions.
33. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
