Theft and loss claims are for iPhone. Each claim is subject to a service fee. While the plan is active and in effect, claim limits reset every 12 months: two claims under AppleCare+. Theft and loss coverage requires you to have Find My enabled on your device at the time it is lost or stolen. Find My should remain enabled and your device should remain associated with your Apple Account throughout the theft or loss claims process. During the theft or loss claims process, you will be asked to erase your missing device, disable it and transfer ownership before you can be issued a new device. After initiating your theft or loss claim with Apple, you will be asked to finalise your claim on AIG’s website at aigtheftandloss.nz. International replacement of lost or stolen devices is subject to availability and options may vary by region, device and model. Same-day replacement is not available for theft and loss claims.

Coverage begins when your device ships or is picked up, or on the date of purchase if you have your device, and coverage can be cancelled at any time.
Service coverage is available only for covered devices and their original included accessories, for protection against (i) batteries that retain less than 80% of their original capacity and (ii) unlimited incidents of accidental damage. Accidental damage means physical damage from handling due to unexpected and unintentional events. Replacement equipment that Apple provides as part of the repair or replacement service may contain new or previously used genuine Apple parts that have been tested and pass Apple functional requirements. Each incident of accidental damage protection is subject to a service fee. If you have a plan with theft and loss coverage, each incident of theft or loss is subject to a service fee. For complete details, see the terms. For iPad, your plan covers one Apple Pencil or Apple Pencil Pro and/or one Apple-branded iPad keyboard compatible with and used with a covered iPad, for accidental damage under your plan. For Apple Watch, the band that is covered for accidental damage under your plan is the band that came in the same box as the covered Apple Watch. Any replacement band will be an Apple-branded band in a style, material and colour that is subject to Apple’s discretion.
Service coverage is provided under the terms and conditions of your AppleCare plan. Service coverage outside the country of purchase of your AppleCare plan is not guaranteed. The availability and type of repair or replacement may vary depending on your device model, applicable local laws and the capabilities of Apple Authorised Service Providers in the location where service is requested. Some service options may not be available in all areas. If service is available and repair is possible, Apple may, at its discretion, offer to repair or replace your device using locally sourced models or parts that meet local standards and regulations, which may differ from the original device in terms of colour and/or specifications. Availability of international replacement for lost or stolen devices is not guaranteed and is subject to availability, and may vary by region, model and device configuration. Express Replacement Service (ERS) is subject to availability, capability and local law at the time you seek service. ERS for hardware coverage for accidental damage to the covered equipment (excluding included accessories) is always subject to the other accidental damage service fee and not the screen-only or back glass-only service fees. If your device is replaced with ERS, the original product becomes Apple’s property. The replacement product is your property and becomes the covered equipment. You are responsible for backing up all software programs, data and passwords residing on your original device.
AppleCare+ and AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss are optional programs. Coverage for accidental damage from handling and theft and loss under AppleCare+ is provided as a benefit pursuant to a group insurance policy that Apple Sales New Zealand (the insured) has purchased from AIG Insurance New Zealand Limited. Neither Apple nor its distributors are authorised to provide any financial advice in respect of the accidental damage from handling insurance cover.AIG Insurance New Zealand Limited has authorised Apple Sales New Zealand to handle any claims you may have for accidental damage from handling.
AIG Insurance New Zealand Limited underwrites the insurance and has an A (Strong) insurer financial strength rating given by Standard and Poor’s (Australia) Pty Ltd. The rating scale in summary form is: AAA Extremely Strong, AA Very Strong, A Strong, BBB Good, BB Marginal, B Weak, CCC Very Weak, CC Extremely Weak, SD Selective Default, D Default, R Regulatory Action, NR Not Rated. The rating from AA to CCC may be modified by the addition of a plus (+) or minus (-) sign to show relative standing within the major rating categories. You can cancel your AppleCare+ at any time. If you cancel your AppleCare+ within 30 days and haven’t used any services, you’ll get a full refund. If you've used benefits and/or after 30 days, you’ll get a pro-rated refund minus any benefits used. If you purchased AppleCare+ through JB Hi-Fi you may need to contact JB Hi-Fi to cancel your plan within the first 30 days, otherwise contact Apple.
